Charly Black slams skin Bleaching after Billboard hit

Dancehall artiste Charly Black got his first Billboard hit with the song, Gyal You A Party Animal, climbing to the number-three spot on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic song chart.
Produced by Kurt Riley, Gyal You A Party Animal, had tongues wagging overseas for more than two years, before it was picked up on the Jamaican radar.
Speaking to The Gleaner, earlier this year, Riley said the song was doing well on international charts. He also predicted that the effort would have gone further and gave respect to Demarco and Birch.
"Demarco played the rhythm and the project was mixed by Birch. That goes to show that unity can do wonders. Too many want it all for themselves when a united effort can be more beneficial to us. I rather have quarter loaf of bread and be grateful, because I know four quarters will make one bread," he said.
Gyal You A Party Animal, has been on the chart for six weeks. Still relatively underrated in Jamaica, Charly Black recently told The Gleaner, that he was focused on making good music instead of shock value.
"I'm one of the artistes that defending real writing skills, real artiste work and real performance that sound as good as the record, live on stage ... I'm not the artist that will try to bleach out my skin to look like a next artiste, try to look like a next image, just to get attention," he said.
In the meantime, the Reggae Billboard Chart saw Vybz Kartel's album, King of the Dancehall, moving up to number seven this week. Notably Alkaline's New Level Unlocked, fell out of top-10 for the first time, making way for Freddie McGregor's, True To My Roots, album, which made its debut at number 10.
