September, the month to begin affairs

September is the most popular month to start an affair.

A 24 per cent increase in extra-marital romps has been predicted with children going back to school and a return to office working fuelling the surge.

Jessica Leoni, from the dating website IllicitEncounters.com, said: "September is always the busiest month of the year for affairs.

"Long summer holidays are a turning point for so many couples - they realise they have little in common and the sex is still boring even when they are basking in paradise."

Leoni added that the COVID-19 pandemic has been a "game-changer" for several relationships.

She said: "The pandemic has been a game-changer.

"They will use September to start completely afresh, knowing they can sleep around safely because the vaccination programme has taken the sting out of the virus.

"If your partner starts behaving oddly after returning to the office in September, they could well be up to no good."
