Donald Trump is preparing to return to Twitter
The former US president is set to make a comeback on the biggest social media platforms to boost his bid for the White House in 2024.
Trump was removed from Twitter, Facebook and Instagram following the US Capitol riot in 2021 but has control of his Twitter account once more following Elon Musk's takeover. The politician's 2024 campaign is petitioning Meta – the parent company of Facebook and Instagram – to open up Trump's account again.
He told Fox News Digital: "We are talking to them (Meta) and we'll see how it all works out.
"If they took us back, it would help them greatly, and that's OK with me. But they need us more than we need them."
Trump has not returned to Twitter since Musk lifted his ban and has preferred to update his supporters via his own site Truth Social.
However, he only has 4.8 million followers on Truth Social compared to 87.7 million followers on Twitter.
A source close to the controversial former president claimed that he was "probably coming back to Twitter".
The insider told NBC News: "He's been talking about it for weeks."
