Photo Flashbacks: June 1986 Floods

The Rio Minho on a rampage. Thousands of acres have been inundated, flooded bridges washed away, and the agricultural losses are astronomical. When these photographs were taken rain was still pouring down.
Lionel Town flooded. This photograph shows the entire street and people's yards under water.
The bridge between Alley and Milk River has been carried away.

It has been 37 years since the infamous June floods ravaged lives and livelihoods across much of Jamaica, with the parish of Clarendon being the heaviest hit. At least 50 people died during the 1986 disaster.
