There are indications that former Prime Minister Bruce Golding could appear before the west Kingston commission of enquiry to give evidence.

The Gleaner understands that Golding, through his attorney, Ransford Braham, has signalled that he is prepared to provide a statement.

"Then they would seek to have him give evidence when it resumes next year," said a source with knowledge of the discussions.

After months of delay, Golding used a nationwide address to announce that he had given then Attorney General Dorothy Lightbourne the go- ahead to issue an extradition warrant for former Tivoli Gardens strongman Christopher 'Dudus' Coke.

That directive resulted in the 2010 police-military operation in Tivoli Gardens.

Some 76 civilians and one member of the Janaica Defence Force were killed in that operation, which is the subject of the commission of enquiry.
