Ganja law passed by the House of Representatives

Despite expressions of caution by a few legislators about the deleterious effects of smoking marijuana, members of the House of Representatives yesterday passed the Dangerous Drugs (Amendment) Act 2015 without amendment.

Member of Parliament for North East St Andrew Delroy Chuck called for the Government to renegotiate international treaties relating to marijuana, noting that Jamaica should push for ganja to be struck from the United Nations list of prohibited substances under Schedule One.
