CXC E-learning Platform gets Upgrade
NotesMaster, an e-learning platform endorsed by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC), is set to launch a new and improved version later this year.
According to Dean Dundas, co-founder and director of NotesMaster, "The new platform will have simpler icons and we have changed the branding to provide a more complete online experience."
The new platform also provides improved navigation and authoring tools that will allow teachers and students from across the region to share content and collaborate in greater ways.
NotesMaster was first launched in 2008 and secured partnership from CXC and the Commonwealth Open School Association.
A key feature of the platform is the resource area, which contains digital syllabuses for all CCSLC, CSEC and CAPE subjects.
"We signed a memorandum of understanding with CXC which sees us using proprietary content from the regional body," Dundas told The Gleaner.
The platform allows users to take advantage of text, image, audio and interactive applications. Other key features also allow users to send internal emails, organise activities in their personal calendar, join online study groups and manage their profile of subjects.
The online resource, which was started in Jamaica, has not only expanded right across the region through its partnership with CXC, but now has an international presence.
Dundas explained that customised versions of the platform have been launched in the United Kingdom and several African countries such as Ghana and Kenya.
