Buchanan's big boo boo

The People's National Party's (PNP's) Hugh Buchanan made a major gaffe on the platform last night when he introduced the wrong 'Bobby' as chairman of his party.

Instead of acknowledging Robert Pickersgill as his chairman, Buchanan shouted the name "Robert 'Bobby' Montague", who is the chairman of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP).

The gaffe brought back memories of Dr Christopher Tufton's infamous instruction during a previous election campaign to Labourites to "put yuh X beside the head".

With the head being the logo for the PNP, Tufton meant to say 'X beside the bell', the logo of the JLP.
