New gov't uncovers several concerns in ministries

Information Minister Senator Ruel Reid says since taking office, the government has discovered several issues of concern.

However, Senator Reid has not indicated what those issues are.

In a statement, the information minister said the concerns and the national budget process are being discussed at the three-day Cabinet retreat which started Wednesday.

He said the consultations are aimed at concluding discussions and decisions on a wide range of matters related to the proper functioning of the government.

According to him, the talks will give the country a firm view of the direction and outlook of the government.

Senator Reid says cabinet ministers will be making presentations related to their portfolios and decisions will be made on several important issues.

The information minister also said the nation will be updated on the decisions coming out of the retreat in a timely manner.
