Three Men Shot Dead

Three persons have been confirmed dead following a drive-by shooting that took place on the outskirts of Arnett Gardens, Kingston, yesterday.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Terrence Bent, who went to the scene of the incident, could not, up to press time, give the names of the victims but told The Gleaner that it took place at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon.

He said early investigations have revealed that six men were gambling at a popular spot at Lincoln Crescent, a community just outside of Arnett Gardens, when they were shot. The other three are currently battling with injuries.

"We suspect strongly that this (is as a result) of ongoing gang conflict out of a group men who want to take control of Gem Road, Havana and Maxfield Avenue (inner-city communities in Kingston)," the cop said.
