Bishop Stanley Clarke

The National Leadership Prayer Breakfast, scheduled to take place next Thursday, billed influential Moravian Bishop Stanley Clarke as the headliner for the event seeking the Lord's intervention into the wickedness happening all over the country.

But the National Leadership Prayer Breakfast is in the process of making arrangements for a new guest speaker for this 37th calling together of the leadership of the country to prayers after the withdrawal of the keynote speaker amid a sex scandal rocking the Moravian Church.

Bishop Stanley Clarke, one of two bishops in the Moravian Church, reportedly communicated his decision yesterday that he would no longer speak.

It is understood that there has been concern among members of the National Leadership Prayer Breakfast Committee about keeping the Moravian bishop as guest speaker given the sex scandal.

The Gleaner has not been able to contact Rev Stevenson Samuels, chairman of the National Leadership Prayer Breakfast Committee, for comment.
