Nation mourns with slain cop's family
THE EDITOR, Sir:
The horrendous and senseless killing of one of Denham Town's finest cops is most unfortunate.
Constable Crystal Thomas, 25, will be remembered by many because of her determination to succeed in life. She was willing to embark on a career that required her to risk her life to protect the life and property of law-abiding citizens. She was less than 10 days away from her graduation as a business administration major.
In addition to the loss of this youthful professional, one must not overlook her mother's grief. Here is a mother who laboured as a vendor to ensure that her daughter would rise above poverty and social deprivation.
The nation grieves the loss of this precious life at the hands of criminals.
We pray God's comfort to all who mourn. May her soul rest in peace.
