Phillips' obsession with Holness’ house nauseating!
THE EDITOR, Sir:
You mean to tell me that Dr Peter Phillips, Jamaica's finance minister, has nothing better to do with his time than to assume his place on a political platform and spew criticisms at the opposition leader about his house?
Quite frankly, I've had just about enough of his nonsense and I'm appalled that a minister of his status would concern himself with something so petty. I am of the firm belief that Dr Phillip's verbiage in Andrew Holness' direction is completely unfounded, and I would strongly recommend to the opposition leader that he wastes no time in dignifying Dr Phillips' desperate rants with a response.
The way I see it, Dr Phillips' preoccupation with a man's house is a grand waste of time and speaks to just how shallow he is. That he would go to such pains to stir up controversy about the opposition leader does nothing for his credibility and makes you realise that these people really are in very desperate straits, much like a drowning man clutching at straws.
I really do not care for the kind of political jabs that I see being directed off the stage of the PNP, I welcome the kind of meaningful criticisms that will force me to stop and think and really assess the value in it. You cannot tell me that you are trying to be returned to office and the best you can do is criticise a man's house.
Come on, this is completely shameless and it has to stop! I'm completely infuriated and most annoyed by the continued spotlight that is being shone on Andrew's house. I am irritated because the assertions by Dr Phillips are absolutely ridiculous and his intent is for naught else than to score political points.
I very much doubt his sincerity and his motives, and at this stage, with the repetition, I'm pretty sure even the Comrades are salivating for something new from the goodly finance minister, who seems to be eyeing the housing portfolio rather than the ministry with which he is charged.
