Behaviour of our public officials

THE EDITOR, Sir:

The behaviour of some politicians here in Jamaica is very distasteful, especially how they deal with public policy. I am concerned about the example they are setting for our children.

As a concerned citizen, I was very appalled when I saw the behaviour of the former prime minister and now Leader of the Opposition Portia Simpson Miller. I think it is very bad in the eyes of the public.

Mrs Simpson Miller, please remember that the office that you hold is a constitutional one that and you are there as the voice of the people in Parliament, so we expect more professional behaviour from you and other members of your party.

Be polite in your speech and stop the irrational utterances in public. As Jamaica's first female prime minister, let the little children both locally and overseas see a clear picture of the leader that you are.
