Target thieving gully hoodlums

There has been an increase in robberies within the Kingston Metropolitan Area, particularly in the Half-Way Tree region.

It is speculated that these robbers are homosexuals who continue to reside in the Kencot gully, near Medical Associates Hospital on Half-Way Tree Road in St Andrew.

In the past, not a day goes by where a report has not been made to the police about these individuals residing in the gully, who continue to be a menace and commit robberies within the Corporate Area.

I was the victim of a robbery on Thursday, May 31, at approximately 8:15 p.m., which has left me perturbed. After exiting the Northern Caribbean University Campus on Half-Way Tree Road, I drove up to the traffic lights (which were on red) to filter on to Balmoral Avenue, when I felt my cellular phone being dragged out of my hand while I was attempting to make a call. I immediately dashed out of my car and noticed that many other motorists were also robbed, which resulted in a major traffic pile-up.

One female victim, in particular, was so distraught, she could not even speak. Another was heard saying, "I saw them clearly. They put a knife to my face and squeezed my throat and dragged my cellular phone away and proceeded to other vehicles."

I am requesting that the commissioner of police spearhead a major sting operation and get rid of this plague. Prompt action is anticipated.
