Saluting NDTC’s new cohort!

The National Dance Theatre Company (NDTC) has reinvigorated itself with a new cohort of young dancers, and they are a symphony in motion!

These millennial dancers make my heart full of hope and excitement for the future of this country's artistic growth, particularly of the performing arts and especially that of the dance art form.

I attended this year's NDTC 'Morning of Movement and Music', under the shrewd stewardship of Barry Moncrieffe, artistic director, and was quite impressed to see this new cohort go through their paces with fervour and disciplined delivery at the dawn of day!

All Jamaica should appreciate the huge sacrifice these dancers pay in showcasing their talent for our enjoyment. On Easter Sunday morning, they arrived at the Little Theatre at 4:30 sharp for a company call and then went on to dance with consummate control, dazzling dexterity, and exquisite expressiveness. They danced, as did their predecessors, for the sheer joy of doing so!

I salute you, the new cohort of the NDTC, and welcome your 2017 Season of Dance!
