Peter Phillips, you are the father

When I watched Christopher Henry Gayle stand in front of his wicket to defend it (during the recent CPL T20 tournament at Sabina Park), I silently wished that Dr Peter Phillips would do the same regarding the Firearm Licensing Authority, which he, as minister of national security, and his party established in 2005 through legislation.
How could we forget how they patted themselves on the back and hailed the establishment of the FLA as an antidote for corruption?
Little did we know that this would turn out to be a site for corruption. One must wonder how the employees who were placed there in 2005 were selected. Did they have prior knowledge of the firearm application process? Or were political hacks used to staff the agency?
From information obtained, the staff placed there were novices, who had no idea about the process and were given a crash course over a few days by members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
Yet, persons were made directors of various departments without the relevant experience and skill. So, there should be no surprise as to what is taking place at the FLA.
The country must hold Dr Peter Phillips responsible for this debacle. He oversaw the genesis of the FLA and he must give an account for the actions of the staff. Dr Phillips, the FLA is your child; you will not be allowed to deny paternity. The DNA results are in and you are the father!
