PEP spin doctors in school

Published:Wednesday | February 6, 2019 | 12:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I am writing in response to an article published on January 30, 2019 (‘Parents sit PEP mock test to ease anxiety’).

This suggested Primary Exit Profile (PEP) mock test that was sat by the parents of the popular primary school in St Andrew is not far from being a farce. Upon attending this planned forum, it was clear that it was all about putting on a show with no objective in mind.

We received the forum invitation like a thief in the night.

We would like to see the scores of the principal that took the mock test with us parents. Next time, I would suggest that the teachers sit these papers even before inviting parents.

I concur with the parent who commented in the article that sensitisation within the school was lacking, as the agenda for most meetings held are overrun by money-begging-related activities and less academic.
