Happy to see renovation of Cross Roads clock

Published:Tuesday | February 26, 2019 | 12:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

The clock in the Cross Roads, St Andrew area has been out of use for so long and has been so broken down and shabby that it has become an eyesore.

I was pleasantly surprised coming from church and seeing the beautiful handiwork on the clock and the immediate area surrounding the clock. It is very beautiful so far. Can you imagine when it is finished? I hope and pray that it will be maintained and will not be a nine-day wonder like the clock in Half-Way-Tree. I hope the Government will retain responsible people to keep up the maintenance.

I also want the Government to seek out the people responsible for the clock in Half-Way Tree and compel them to stand up to their end of the job. Take a note from the work being done there, and do something about it. It’s a shame on such a part of our history, a beautiful monument.
