What of constituency development?
THE EDITOR, Sir:
In past elections, I would generally vote for my party’s candidate, and being a resident of a political garrison, he always wins – without controversy.
But the older I get, the more I would want to focus on issues to make my voting decision. While I am not a voter in the upcoming East Portland by-election, I, like many others, am very interested in the issues.
Apart from race and class, I would like to hear the two candidates seriously debate the issues of constituency development – real-life concerns facing residents.
I do not doubt that Mrs Ann-Marie Vaz would dominate the debate. She has been in the constituency for some time now, and you have to consider all she has done there.
The PNP’s Damion Crawford has just gone into the area. He has a lot of catching up to do, which he is doing quite well.
