Good party but failing ministers
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I must acknowledge the commendable work being put in by Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
However, the underlying challenge that the JLP administration faces is not so much with the prime minister but with his ministers.
The truth is, Andrew Holness fails to delegate responsibilities to hard-working and capable individuals (ministers) who are committed to ensuring the highest level of representation and diligence and are able to serve with dignity, vision and morality.
What Andrew needs to do is to run a thorough audit into the performance of each minister, evaluate and assess them, then make attempts to start separating the sheep from the goats.
There are ministers who are complacent, conceited, egotistic and self-pleased, not doing a thing! Added to that, they are the ones who are painting a bad image of the party, giving the impression that ‘nothing naah gwaan’. To make matters even worse, they are the same ones being caught in repeated acts of corruption, cronyism and nepotism.
But, kudos to Holness, Nigel Clarke, Desmond McKenzie and Olivia Grange. I encourage you to maintain your dignities and keep the JLP banner high. To those who did not hear their names I say, you are the bad apples, Andrew needs to throw you all out!
