Address issues at HEART
THE EDITOR, Madam:
This is with reference to the editorial in The Gleaner, ‘A Problem At HEART’ published on October 15, 2020. The issues at HEART were very well highlighted.
The Auditor General’s Department continues to provide service to the taxpayers of Jamaica by exposing the gross inefficiencies, incompetence, poor return for tax dollars, and even cronyism, in some instances, in the running of government agencies and programmes.
I agree completely that HEART’s mandate and purpose need to be reimagined and realigned in order to address the needs of the underprivileged and under-resourced citizens of this nation. This also needs to happen in relation to the NHT.
