Take the jab before you lose public confidence, Dr Tufton

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I believe that Prime Minister (PM) Andrew Holness and Health and Wellness Minister Dr Christopher Tufton should have been among the first persons vaccinated.

Why? Simply because it would have sent the right message, especially when there is so much distrust surrounding the vaccine.

Granted that those considered to be most at risk to be vaccinated first is understandable, however, having the PM and health minister, or at least Dr Tufton, taking the jab would show that they are leading by example. Not taking the vaccine does more harm than good to garner public confidence.

Furthermore, the Health Minister is even at a higher risk based on the very nature and demands of his job/role.
