THE EDITOR, Madam:

There are many establishments where social distancing may not be possible because of how these places are set up. I have seen lines where the little stickers on the floor are stuck six feet apart yet the line happens to get longer – you see persons two feet apart – because now they are side by side. That does not make sense or is effective in any way.

The Government, instead of imposing lockdowns, should start a campaign for getting masks to the people, and especially those who cannot afford them. They need to invest in masks, just as they are in other measures, including vaccine.

Masks should be distributed to commuters in buses in all parishes, especially those who are not wearing them. The prime minister announced locking down the country this coming Sunday, but we are sure on Thursday and Friday, a lot of people going ‘bungle up at supermarkets, grocery stores, etc, to stock up. How is this going to make the weekend lockdown effective?.
