Mentally ill persons’ lives matter
THE EDITOR, Madam:
As we move closer towards the celebration and recognition of World Mental Health Day on Sunday, October 10, I wish to express deep appreciation to those who continue to support the mentally ill community.
As a mental health patient and advocate who spearheads a number of initiatives on behalf of the mentally ill within the Spalding to Christiana region, I am deeply impressed and inspired by the involvement and contribution of members of the Spalding police, Kiwanis Club and citizens’ association. On Tuesday, October 5, they assisted me in distributing over 60 care packages to mental health patients at Percy Junor Hospital.
I thank all the kind persons for their continued support of my mental health projects and encourage them to continue being a friend towards the community of the mentally ill.
Let us remember that there is no good health without good mental health and mentally ill persons’ lives matter. The word is always love!
