Johnson failed to unseat Scotland

THE EDITOR, Madam:

In response to her defeat in the Commonwealth Secretary General elections, Kamina Johnson Smith is reported to have suggested that “God wasn’t ready for me to leave Jamaica yet”.

It would have been better for God to have advised her not to enter the race in the first place, as it would have saved Jamaica’s taxpayers millions of dollars.

On Friday morning, a popular radio show host tried to put a positive spin on Johnson Smith’s defeat by emphasising her loss by only three votes. Johnson Smith’s loss is in fact an embarrassment to the United Kingdom and its co-conspirators to unseat Baroness Patricia Scotland. Johnson Smith was made the poster child of the movement to unseat Scotland because Boris Johnson and the UK, for whatever reason(s), wanted her to pack her bags and go.

CARICOM countries Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and Belize sided with the UK in its failed democratic coup d’etat. “Rule Britannia rule, Britannia rule the waves” is but a distant memory. If you have doubts, ask the baroness!
