Remove illegal vendors from Harbour View roundabout

Harbour View homeowners must demand that illegal vendors be removed from the roundabout and not be upgraded by Wray & Nephew.

In a press briefing at KSAC on June 15, 2005, Mayor McKenzie made the following remarks which are documented in a JIS article and can be found online ‘Illegal Vendors to be removed from Harbour View Roundabout’.

He described the roundabout as “unsightly and a national disgrace”. “Vending has taken over the area which was once a park. It cannot continue. On weekends, commercial activities in the area create problems for vehicular traffic,” he said in that article.

We would like to know, therefore, what has changed now why they should be upgraded, Mayor Williams? Instead of tarpaulin, they have now built shops. Instead of leaving early morning, it is now going to be an all day food mart which is right outside of people’s homes.

We want the green area back with a big ‘Welcome to Harbour View Community’ sign.
