A Naturalista's Bridal Mane
More often than not, when a bride-to-be envisions her big day, she thinks about her jaw-dropping dress, flawless make-up and the picture-perfect hairdo. Of late, many women are returning to their 'roots' and becoming a 'naturalista' giving up the 'creme crack' Today, Flair explores the various styles for your natural crown when tying the knot.
The options, when it comes to hairstyles are endless which can sometimes become a problem. You have the updo's, the buns, the twist-outs, and rope twists.
Hair stylist Camisha Barrett said that it is sometimes more difficult to style 'naturalistas' but she solves this problem with her clients by having them come in sometime before the wedding to test styles.
"I make them come in like a month before the wedding and sometimes they might have something in mind and I would try it to see if it fits their face and, if not, then I just change it up. You want them looking perfect on their wedding day so I always do a test run once they are natural," Barrett noted.
Among the variety of popular styles is an updo among natural hair women whether they are 'fro' or 'lock sistas'. It could be a flat twist up in one with curls or a pin up with curls after the hair is rope twisted - an updo comes in many forms..
A few naturalista's shared with Flair their hairstyles and why they decided to chose for them for their special day.
