British Jamaican designer Grace Wales Bonner showed her very first collection for the Pitti Immagine Uomo at the Palazzo Medici Riccardi, a Renaissance palace in Florence, Italy. Considered the world’s premier platform for men’s clothing and accessories, the Pitti Immagine Uomo showing wasn’t the only big Wales Bonner move. The Palazzo Medici Riccardi has reportedly never held a live fashion show. With an impressive installation by Ghanaian artist Ibrahim Mahama, the highly anticipated Spring 2023 collection was big on legacy and cultural exchange – “Afro-Atlantic presence amongst the European splendour of Palazzo Medici Riccardi” wrote @walesbonner on Instagram.
