A photo station filled with foods of the land — breadfruit, pumpkin, yam, tamarind, red peas, pineapple, ginger and green bananas — was among the richness showcased at the American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ) gala last Saturday night in Miami, Florida. Also present was a selection of luxury auction items, fine wines and premium entertainment, enhanced by the indomitable Christopher Martin, who took control of a packed dance floor which, moments earlier, was opened by a stunning, accommodating and diminutive Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, dressed in fuchsia. Fraser-Pryce brightening the ballroom at the Inter Continental, downtown Miami, by opening the dance floor with former Chairman of GraceKennedy Douglas Orane. Both were recognised with the AFJ 2023 International Humanitarian Award. Something Extra brings you the highlights.
