KINGSTON, Jamaica:

Several law enforcement agencies are now conducting a raid at the Brooklyn Supermarket in the Twin Gates Plaza, St Andrew in search of illegal blue mountain coffee.

The team led by the police, the Customs department and the Coffee Industry Board has just found two packages of what they are describing as illegal coffee.

A representative from the Coffee Industry Board told The Gleaner a short while ago that the company that supplied the product to Brooklyn is operating without a license.

The Police are now interviewing the owner of the Supermarket inside the establishment.

This follows a similar raid at the Kingston Craft Market this morning.

No coffee was found in that raid but the team seized a number of counterfeit hand bags and t-shirts bearing the image of Bob Marley.
