Power supply issues disrupt Corporate Area water schedule

Published:Tuesday | July 7, 2015 | 12:00 AM

The National Water Commission (NWC) says that some customers in sections of the Corporate Area who were scheduled to be supplied with water today (under the new alternating day supply regime), have not been receiving water as a result of power supply problems affecting a number of facilities across Kingston, St Andrew and St Catherine.

The NWC’s operating and maintenance teams are working with the JPSCo to restore normality to these systems as soon as is possible.

NWC says some facilities have already been restored since this morning and it is hoped that all will be restored during the course of the day.

The water company says as normality returns to their electricity-dependent water supply systems, water is being distributed to the areas scheduled for today.

The National Water Commission says it wishes to apologise to its customers for the inconvenience experienced and that they are making every effort to adhere to the schedule which has been published.
