Forty-two-year-old Kingston resident Nicola Neil has been charged with fraudulent conversion and is to appear in court on July 31.

Neil was charged on Thursday by detectives attached to the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Branch.

Reports are that Neil had developed a relationship with the complainant who resides overseas.

It is being alleged that during that time the complainant transferred money to Neil’s account to purchase a motor truck in relation to a previously agreed arrangement.

It is further reported that while on a visit to the island the complainant inquired about the truck and learned it had not been purchased.

The complainant then reported the matter to the police after failed efforts to contact Neil for the sum to be returned.

An investigation was subsequently launched and she arrested and charged.
