A female pedestrian was killed in a collision in Clarendon last night along the Swansea main road.

Thirty-four-year-old Danisha Ford died from injuries she received after she was hit while standing next to a utility pole along a section of the main road.

Information from the police is that two cars racing toward Toll Gate overtook each other and forced another vehicle heading in the opposite direction to swerve to the left. It collided with a utility pole, as well as the woman who was standing in close proximity. The vehicle then ended up in front of a house which was near the road.

The driver of the ill-fated motor vehicle  is now in custody awaiting formal charges.

This latest collision occurred at the same spot where 20-year-old Vanessa Peart and 29-year-old Kayon Brown perished in a motor vehicle crash on March 2 this year.
