Minister of National of Security Peter Bunting (centre) and Deputy Commissioner in charge of operations, Clifford Blake (to his left), meet with security personnel in St James today.

Minister of National of Security Peter Bunting is now touring sections of St James.

The security minister's visit comes after an upsurge in violence in the parish, which resulted in the killing of seven persons over the past 24 hours.

Before the tour, Minister Bunting was briefed by the Area One hierarchy led by ACP Paul Ferguson.

The tour started at Rose Heights, it will then proceed to Glendevon, Hendon, and Flanker.

Correction: This story previously stated that the commissioner was on the tour with the security minister, however, the information received in a release from the ministry was incorrect.
