Two teenagers who were arrested in connection with the July 9 murder of a taxi operator in Clarendon have now been charged.

The teens were formally charged yesterday after they were arrested in Old Harbour, St Catherine last week. Up to news time only one of the two accused teens was named. He is 19-year-old Onick Williams.

The teens had boarded the taxi driven by 25-year-old Anthony Morgan at Guinep Tree in May Pen with three other passengers. The taxi was en route to Wood Hall district near Chapelton.

On reaching an area called Bucknor, the teens allegedly slashed the driver’s throat, shot him twice and then escaped into bushes.

The police had theorised that Morgan's death may be in connection to a dispute over a woman.
