Denham Town Health Centre closed due to violence in community

The South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) has announced that the Denham Town Health Centre in Kingston has been temporarily closed in light of the violence affecting the community.

SERHA Board Chairman, Dr Andrei Cooke says the authority is concerned about the safety of staff and patients at the health centre.

He says the facility will remain closed until conditions in the community improve.

Residents in Denham Town and surrounding communities are being encouraged to utilise the Edgerton Chin Loy and Comprehensive Health Centres in the meantime.

Cooke says staff from the Denham Town Health Centre has been redeployed to these facilities to assist with the additional patient load.
