Cop who committed suicide in Manchester was stressed, had asked for transfer

Tyrone Thompson, the 32-year-old Clarendon police corporal who last night committed suicide in Newport, Manchester was reportedly under severe stress.

Thompson, who would have turned 33 in October worked at the Four Paths Police station near May Pen.

He had reportedly asked to be transferred to another police station.

It's understood that Thompson's twin brother, who is also a police corporal, spoke to him at 3 pm yesterday.

The brother is said to have tried to contact Thompson several times after but failed.

He became suspicious and went to Thompson's house to make checks.

The brother reportedly opened a window and went inside the house where he saw Thompson with a gunshot wound to the head and clutching a firearm.
