Twenty students who performed creditably in their recent Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) and Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations by using the EduFocal website were recently recognised for their outstanding efforts.

Danielle Lindo and Tyrese Bryan each received $30,000 for being the top users of the GSAT and CSEC programmes, respectively. The award ceremony, which was held at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel, marked three years since the project's inception.

EduFocal allows users to access content from the GSAT and CSEC platform that enhances the learning experience of its users through games, quizzes and other engaging activities. Students also become members of a virtual community in which they can compete, receive assistance, and exchange ideas.

Launched in 2012, EduFocal has focused on using technology to enrich the learning experience inside and outside the classroom as well as to help ideate and innovate the way we move forward with technology in education.

In just three years, EduFocal has grown to become the largest online resource for students sitting the GSAT examinations in Jamaica.
