Police seize 11 guns, High Command commend cops

The Police High Command is commending the men and women of the Jamaica Constabulary Force on the removal of eleven illegal firearms and hundreds of rounds of ammunition across the island on Thursday and Friday.

The firearms included an AK 47 rifle, one M-16 rifle and a Strum Ruger mini- 14 rifle.

According to the Police High Command, the seizures highlight the proactive response being taken by members of the force through the National Coordinated Crime Reduction Operation and other strategies, to arrest the issue of crime.

The high command also commended members of the public for partnering with the Police.

Meanwhile, the police are appealing to members of the public to continue to share information on illegal or suspicious activities in their communities by calling Crime Stop at 311, Police 119 emergency number or their nearest Police Station.
