Hospitals and health centres coping well despite water lock-offs – Ministry
The Ministry of Health says the island’s hospitals and health centres have been coping fairly well despite water lock-offs.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr Kevin Harvey, says health facilities continue to receive water from the National Water Commission on a regular basis.
He says hospitals and health centres have storage facilities which allow them access to water during lock-offs.
Harvey also reiterated the Ministry’s appeal for persons to stop stealing water from health facilities.
He says the health ministry is actively watching the water situation at hospitals and health centres.
Meanwhile, Harvey is encouraging persons to properly store water and cover containers to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes.
Harvey is also encouraging the public to adhere to proper hygiene practices.
