Cop shot, injured in St Catherine

The Corporate Communications Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force has confirmed that a policeman was shot an injured early this morning.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight in Willowdene, St Catherine.

The policeman was shot three times.

However, the CCU says his injuries are not life threatening.

The policeman is now in hospital undergoing treatment.

This morning's incident follows another shooting Monday night in Clarendon.

In that incident, a policeman who was visiting a bar with a relative, was shot once in a robbery attempt.

He is in hospital in serious but stable condition.
