St Ann councillor says Lisa Hanna appears to be making mischief
The councillor for the Bensonton Division in South East St Ann says it appears MP Lisa Hanna was being mischievous when she wrote to the party hierarchy complaining about a planned meeting.
In the letter purportedly written by Hanna, the MP said a divisional conference was being advertised for yesterday despite an instruction by PNP general secretary Paul Burke that no such conference should be held.
But Lydia Richards, the councillor for the Bensonton Division says a divisional conference was never advertised.
According to her, only a group meeting was advertised and it was sanctioned by the party's general secretary.
Richards suggested that Miss Hanna was being mischievous when she reported that a divisional conference was being planned for Bensonton.
There are four councillors in Hanna's South East St Ann constituency, and Richards is one of three who have declared that they no longer have confidence in the MP.
Richards has also said that she intends to challenge Miss Hanna as MP.
Meanwhile, Paul Burke says the party has been trying to enforce certain standards to address the fractions that has developed among some comrades.
