The police are reporting that they have foiled a plan by criminals to rob an armoured vehicle and recovered three high-powered weapons. The Jamaica Constabulary Force's Corporate Communications Unit says three men were taken into custody and will face criminal charges shortly. The police say proactive investigations revealed that members of a criminal gang based in the St Andrew community of Arnett Gardens were planning to rob an armoured vehicle. But the police say the plan was thwarted last Thursday when members of the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime (CTOC) Division conducted an operation in the community and seized three firearms, including an AK-47 rifle. According to the police, another member of the gang was arrested the following day in Cooreville Gardens, also in St Andrew.
