Water Park Officially Opens at Jewel Runaway Bay
Sagicor Real Estate X Fund, which owns the Jewel chain of luxury resorts, recently officially opened its state-of-the-art Jewel Runaway Bay Lagoon Water Park, at the Jewel Runaway Bay Beach and Golf Resort.
Richard Byles, chairman of the Sagicor Real Estate X Fund and president and CEO of Sagicor Group Jamaica, in welcoming guests to the official opening said, "Sagicor remains committed to investing in Jamaica and delivering world-class tourism products to Jamaica and the world". He explained that this water park is the result of the $1.5 billion raised from the X Fund's initial public offering.
STRONG SHOW OF CONFIDENCE
Dr Wykeham McNeill, minister of tourism and entertainment, congratulated Sagicor on the "strong show of confidence that they have demonstrated in the investment to the tourism industry and Jamaica".
Jewel Runaway Bay Lagoon Water Park is one of the largest water parks in the region and was designed for guests of all ages. The 9,000-square-foot water park brings more than 200,000 gallons of aquatic fun, excitement and relaxation to the all-inclusive Jewel Resort chain in Jamaica. Guests have already begun enjoying the facility, which was opened earlier this year on Wednesday, March 4. Approximately 45,000 guests have utilised the facility since its soft opening.
The opening of the water park is a major achievement for the Sagicor Real Estate X Fund, which owns the water park and the all-inclusive, all-ages Jewel Runaway Bay. The Sagicor X Fund comprises a diverse real estate portfolio made up of commercial and hotel properties.
