A District Constable, who was found guilty of Larceny as a Public Servant, has been sentenced to nine months imprisonment at hard labour in the Corporate Area Criminal Court.

He is Keron Morrison who was attached to the Bull Bay Police Station in St Andrew.

In March of 2011, Morrison was suspected of stealing a BlackBerry cellular phone from the safe at the Bull Bay Police Station

The phone was an exhibit in a matter before the court.

A report was made to the then Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) and an investigation launched.

Morrison was subsequently arrested and charged after the phone was discovered in the possession of his friend, who explained that he got it from Morrison.

Following his sentencing, his attorney appealed the conviction and sentence.
