The JLP general secretary, Dr Horace Chang, says all the JLP’s candidates for the next general election will be in place by September 27.

His pronouncement comes despite the yet to be resolved selection process in West Central St Catherine.

He has not given any indication about whether a vote will still be held to decide on a candidate.

At the end of last month the JLP secretariat ordered individuals vying to represent the party in the constituency to cease all political activities after it discontinued the selection process.

One of the contenders for the position, Dr Christopher Tufton, said the uncertainty surrounding the selection of a JLP candidate was causing frustration for party workers and delegates.

Tufton is vying against attorney-at-law Kent Gammon and Councillor Devon Wint to replace Dr Ken Baugh in West Central St Catherine.
