Fire forces closure of Lacovia High School

A fire which broke out in a classroom at the Lacovia High School in St Elizabeth this morning has forced the closure of the school until further notice.

The fire broke out in an air conditioning unit in a classroom at the school.

School board chairman, Fitz Rowe told The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre that the safety and security of the students and staff is paramount, as a result they have been sent home.
