Roadblocks in St Elizabeth after PNP selection contest postponement

Published:Saturday | September 12, 2015 | 12:00 AM

The decision of the PNP secretariat to postpone the selection exercise triggered angry protest in several St Elizabeth communities today.

Party supporters used trees and other debris to block a number of roadways in the communities of Mount Pleasant, Content and Union.

They complained that this was the third postponement of the selection exercise to name the Party’s candidate for the constituency in the next general election.

Police Inspector Leroy Harrison told our new centre that the police are monitoring the situation and are on high alert in the town of Santa Cruz.
