16 Jamaican women held in Bahamas police operation

The Bahamas Weekly is reporting that 16 Jamaican females were arrested during a Police Anti-Crime Operation in Nassau on the weekend.

According to the police, seven of the 16 women were arrested at a nightclub on Madeira Street and the other nine at a nightclub on Robinson Road.

They are suspected of engaging in prostitution.

The police say the nightclub operators were also arrested.

A large amount of cash was reportedly confiscated from the women and the police say it may have been proceeds of crime.
